Elven Crafts at Keskiajan Turku: Chainmail Jewelry at Finland's Largest Medieval Fair
We are excited to announce that Elven Crafts has been accepted as a vendor at Keskiajan Turku (Turku Medieval Fair), Finland's largest medieval history event. The fair runs June 25-28, 2026 at Vanha Suurtori (Old Market Square) in the heart of Turku.
This will be our first time exhibiting at the fair, and we are bringing our handmade chainmail jewelry collection to the medieval streets.
What is Keskiajan Turku?
Keskiajan Turku is a four-day outdoor festival celebrating medieval history and culture. It fills Turku's Old Market Square with music, dance, food, craft vendors, and historical reenactments. The fair has been running for decades and draws thousands of visitors each summer.
Admission is free, making it one of the best summer events in southwest Finland for families, tourists, and anyone curious about history and handmade crafts.
What we will have at our booth
- Handmade chainmail earrings in various weave patterns, lightweight and eye-catching
- Bracelets and necklaces in Byzantine, Persian, and European 4-in-1 weaves, available in different metals and lengths
- Headpieces and accessories that look especially fitting at a medieval fair
- Every piece is handmade, one ring at a time, using traditional chainmail techniques
Why chainmail belongs at a medieval fair
Chainmail has been around for over 2,000 years. Originally made as armor, the same ring-linking techniques are now used to create jewelry, accessories, and decorative pieces. Wearing chainmail at a medieval fair feels right. The technique is ancient, and the results are something you take home and wear every day.
Our collection includes both historical patterns like European 4-in-1 (the same weave armorers used centuries ago) and decorative patterns like Byzantine and Persian chains.

Our first step into Turku
This fair marks our expansion into Turku, Finland's oldest city and a natural fit for medieval crafts. We already sell and run workshops in Helsinki and Copenhagen, and Turku has been on our list. If the fair goes well, expect to see more from Elven Crafts in the Turku area.
If you are planning to visit the fair, come say hello. Browse our collection, pick up a handmade piece, and chat with us about chainmail. We would love to meet you.
