Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 19 April 2026

1. Who we are

This website is operated by Mariia Solodiankina(toiminimi, trading as Elven Crafts), Lehmihaka 2, Vantaa, Finland, Y-tunnus 3603623-2 (the “Provider”, “we”, “our”).

These terms govern inquiries, workshop bookings, and product orders placed via the Elven Crafts website (elvencrafts.eu) or via direct communication with the Provider. By submitting an inquiry, a booking, or an order, you agree to these terms.

2. Services we offer

  • Craft workshops(chainmail jewellery, bead jewellery, and other craft experiences) delivered on a specific date at a location agreed in advance, either at the customer's venue, at a venue we source, or at a public event.
  • Handmade jewellery sold through our online shop or on a custom-order basis.
  • Creator applications for artisans who wish to list on the platform.

3. Booking process for workshops

  1. You submit an inquiry with group size, preferred date, and requirements.
  2. We reply with a quote and logistics proposal. The quote is valid for 14 days unless otherwise stated.
  3. The contract is formed when you accept the quote in writing (email or signed proposal) and pay any deposit we have agreed.
  4. We issue an invoice with VAT (where applicable), payment terms, and event details.

4. Prices, payment, and VAT

Prices on the website are indicative and may be updated for a specific booking depending on group size, location, and requirements. The binding price is the one in the quote or invoice we send to you.

The Provider is a Finnish toiminimi. VAT is applied according to Finnish and EU VAT rules. Until the Provider exceeds the Finnish small-business VAT threshold, invoices may be issued without VAT and will state this clearly. For EU B2B customers outside Finland the reverse-charge mechanism may apply; your VAT ID will then be stated on the invoice.

Unless otherwise agreed, payment is due within 14 days of the invoice date. For small consumer bookings, full payment up front may be required.

5. Cancellation, refund and right of withdrawal

5.1 Workshops scheduled for a specific date

Under Article 16(l) of the EU Consumer Rights Directive (2011/83/EU), as implemented in Finnish Consumer Protection Act (Kuluttajansuojalaki, chapter 6, § 16), the 14-day right of withdrawal does not apply to services related to leisure activities that are performed on a specific date or period. This means craft workshops booked for a specific date are not subject to the statutory 14-day right of withdrawal.

In place of a statutory withdrawal right, we apply the following cancellation policy (which binds us as well):

  • More than 30 days before the event: full refund minus any non-refundable costs already incurred on your behalf (for example, materials ordered to your specification).
  • 7 to 30 days before the event: 50% refund of the amount paid.
  • Less than 7 days before the event: no refund, except where we can resell or reuse the workshop slot and materials.
  • If we cancel: you receive a full refund or, at your choice, a rescheduled date at no extra cost.

5.2 Physical products

When you buy a physical product via the online shop as a consumer, you have a right to withdraw from the contract within 14 days of receiving the product, without giving a reason, under the EU Consumer Rights Directive and Finnish consumer law. To withdraw, email contact@elvencrafts.eu within 14 days, then return the product in unused condition within another 14 days. Return shipping is paid by the customer. We refund the purchase price within 14 days of receiving the returned product.

Custom-made and personalised items (for example, jewellery made to your measurement or specification) are excluded from the right of withdrawal under Article 16(c) of the Consumer Rights Directive. This exclusion is stated clearly on each custom order before you confirm it.

6. Participation in workshops

  • Participants follow the instructor's safety instructions at all times. Workshops use hand tools such as pliers.
  • Participants are responsible for disclosing any health or safety issue that would affect their ability to take part (for example, metal allergies).
  • Minors must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
  • The customer (or the person booking for a group) is responsible for the suitability of the venue and for any permissions required (for example, permission from their employer, landlord, or venue owner).

7. Intellectual property

All content on elvencrafts.eu, including text, images, logos, and SVG graphics, is owned by the Provider or used with permission, and is protected by copyright and related rights. You may not reproduce, copy, or use the content for commercial purposes without our written consent.

Items you make during a workshop are yours to keep. Photographs we take during a workshop may be used for Elven Crafts' own portfolio and marketing; if you would prefer not to be identifiable in photos, tell us before or during the workshop and we will respect that.

8. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law:

  • We are liable for direct losses caused by our negligence, up to the amount you paid for the specific workshop or product that caused the loss.
  • We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost profit, lost opportunity, or damage to third-party property, unless caused by gross negligence or wilful misconduct on our part.
  • Nothing in these terms limits your non-waivable consumer rights under Finnish law or EU law.

9. Privacy

Personal data you provide is processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The version that applies to your booking or order is the one published on the website at the time the contract is formed. Material changes will be highlighted on the website.

11. Governing law and dispute resolution

These terms are governed by Finnish law. Mandatory consumer protection rules of the country where a consumer customer is habitually resident still apply where they offer greater protection.

If we cannot resolve a dispute directly, a consumer customer in Finland may refer the matter to the Finnish Consumer Disputes Board (kuluttajariitalautakunta). A consumer customer elsewhere in the EU may also use the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform.

Court disputes are handled by the District Court of Helsinki (Helsingin käräjäoikeus) unless consumer law designates the consumer's home court.
