Elven Crafts at Turku Medieval Fair

About the event

Keskiajan Turku (Turku Medieval Fair) is a four-day outdoor festival celebrating medieval history and culture. Every summer, Turku's Old Market Square fills with music, dance, food, craft demonstrations, and historical reenactments. It is the largest event of its kind in Finland.

This year, Elven Crafts will be there as a vendor, selling handmade chainmail jewelry. Chainmail has been around for over 2,000 years, so it fits right in with the medieval setting.

Why chainmail at a medieval fair

Chainmail was originally made as armor, using the same ring-linking techniques we now use for jewelry. The European 4-in-1 weave in our collection is the same pattern armorers used centuries ago. At a medieval fair, you get to wear a craft with real historical roots.

We also work with decorative patterns like Byzantine and Persian chains, which turn the ancient technique into modern, everyday jewelry.
